What is Intuitive Eating?
Intuitive eating is the opposite of a traditional diet.
It's a philosophy that helps make you the expert of your body and its hunger signals.
With Intuitive eating, all foods are fine and you are the only person who decides what and when to eat. There are no imposed guidelines. Instead, we build trust in yourself and in your choices. But you have to learn these skills. And this can be a safe space to do that.
The intention of this philosophy is to promote a healthy attitude toward food and body image.
The basic idea is to learn to eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full. To give up diet mentality. To use other markers for change other than weight. Honor your hunger and satiety. Although this sounds simple, it is not that simple for some. The many diet books, "food experts", blogs and celebrity advice have made some people feel disconnected from their own body's natural intuition.
With Intuitive eating, you will relearn how to trust your body by distinguishing between physical and emotional hunger and heal your relationship with food, emotions, self trust and body image.
